TOTM Top 10 Movies: Seabiscuit (#5)

Editor's Note: The Top of the Morning (TOTM) staff is pleased to bring you one of our top ten movie clips from our TOTM list of movies that inspire, movies that ennoble, and movies that bring you to your feet in the comfort of your own home.

Today's movie pick is Seabiscuit (#5), a depression era movie that follows the lives of three down and out men, an abandoned teen jockey, a cowboy whose wild west frontier disappeared in the wake of the industrial revolution and a millionaire car dealer who lost part of his fortune and all of his family. When they find Seabiscuit, a washed up race horse, and turn the thoroughbred into a champion their passion for racing brings them together and changes the lives of all three.

Please enjoy this three minute theatrical trailer which also includes one of our top ten movie lines of all time (#3). We think its one of the best lines that captures the idea of Christ's atonement for all of God's children:

"You don't throw a whole life away, just 'cause its banged up little."

So now I'm curious -- what are the other movies on the TOTM Top 10 list?

Yeah, I'd like to know too, Francie! I think I'll have a chat with the head writer! Yoo-hoo, Dave, we need to talk! ;>

You two are so used to beginning at the top of the bottom of a list. Here at TOTM we decided to begin in the middle with #5. We can jump around, can't we? And what do you think of the movie? That's the real question.

Hmmm..."at the top of the bottom of a list?" Do you think I should edit that? ;>

I liked Seabiscuit! Did you see Hidalgo? That one kinda got mixed reviews, but the horse sure had heart! Okay, so you started in the middle...are you going to move up or down the list? Somewhere on that list has GOT to be the first "Pirates" movie or "there will be no living with me!" ;>

No, David, the real question is "To be or not to be". At least that is what Mr. Shakespear always says.
